The
American V-8 Super Car Series (AV8SS)
General class explanation and purpose:
AV8SS is a single class of racing comprised of multiple makes of cars beginning with model year 1964. All cars will be equipped with front mounted V-8 engines and must be rear wheel drive. All wheel drive will not be allowed. AV8SS is designed at the outset to be a showcase for the aftermarket manufacturers and products. Tube framed cars will not be allowed.
AV8SS is a semi-professional series. To that end, sponsors will be actively pursued and purses will be paid whenever possible. The series' goal is to bridge the gap between a grassroots road racing effort and a true factory sponsored professional effort.
